sacred spaces
The sacred room where it all happens. Behind semi-closed doors, tales are whispered, lessons are practiced, kingdoms are won and lost. Dreams are weaved from invisible silk peppered with sugar and the first broken hearts. This is where what she learns outside gets acknowledged and where new behaviour is rehearsed. Her dolls an extension of herself, who she hopes to become, how she wishes the world would behave. Here she gets to say what outside sometimes she dares not. Here she learns about courage, friendship betrayal and love. and it is all carefully weaved with magic silk onto her soul.

the moon took something from me
I looked up at the sky to find her smiling.
Full moon, so bright and indifferent to me.
I thought to myself she was linked to my body,
I though of her as a gift, an omen, a sign.
I expected her to give, instead she took something.
She took hope and a promise,
She took sleep and my youth,
She took everything and nothing.
White, fat and smiling. So indifferent to my pleas
