tween

My submission to the Lensculture Portrait awards did not win (again) but at least I got this

"We do have good news for you! Your submission was among the top-rated entries in the Portrait Awards 2016 competition. This is an impressive accomplishment given the record number of submissions we received."

paper towns, February self portrait

double click on image to enlarge

Hide. Cover up the outside
Odd eyes are prying, trying
To understand the inside.
Fingering questions probing
The paper layer resisting
But giving you just enough to spy
Glimpses, snatched kodachromes stained with pride
Soaked in emotions, milking
Refracted hypotheses. Lies
Nothing but lies in thinking
You can see through my acting,
That thin paper disguise.

The family self portrait  project started in January 2011.
I take one portrait of the whole family, myself included, once a month.
In late 2013 a "ghost" writer joined the initiative and now each photo is accompanied by a poem.
In 2015 the kids started collaborating and introducing their own ideas
...the project has a life of its own

also,
Every family should do this. It's an amazing record of the little things that matter
